Today I’m off to a Scrabble tournament. It’s a fundraiser for Frontier College, a wonderful organization that promotes literacy. It’s at Britannia Secondary School here in Vancouver, at 12:30. I’m going to play in the tournament and read from “Word Nerd.” To be honest, I’m nervous – not about reading, but about playing in an actual tournament! I’ve never done that before. Playing with a timer, yikes. What if I throw a mini-tantrum like Ambrose?Anyway, I’ll write about how it goes … And I’m wearing my Scrabble earrings, courtesy of the lovely Laurie Anderson, to bring me good luck.
