I just found out recently that Word Nerd has been nominated for the Indigo Teen Read Awards! If you have a moment, go to their site – there are lots of cool categories. Word Nerd can be found under “Best Canadian Read” – better yet, if you feel so inspired, please vote for it! The other books in that category sound fantastic too, including a title by the awesome Tim-Wynne Jones (whom I had the honor of meeting briefly in Toronto at the Red Maple Awards) and Cory Doctorow, whom I would love to meet, because he looks cool and he has a website called “craphound.”

gdott, I found out mid-June, but had to keep my big mouth shut until it was officially announced. Then, when it was announced, on June 21, I was away.So it took me this long to post about it! But it’s cool – the site already has 588 fans, and tons of kids are chatting about books.
