This is just one small example of what a great mom I have. As I think I posted a few months ago, “Dear George Clooney: Please Marry My Mom” won a CBC Bookie Award in the Best Young Adult Novel category. My mom (a big fan of the CBC, as am I) kept asking, “Have you heard from them? Have you received your award yet?”
Well, here’s the rub: There was no award. Basically it was just posted on their website. That was the extent of it. And that bothered my dear mommy.So, when she came to visit me recently, she gave me this:

Yes. That’s right. It’s framed and everything. I’ve hung it on my office wall, along with my Red Maple and Manitoba Young Readers’ Choice Award plaques. If any other winners of a CBC Bookie are interested, I’m sure I could arrange it with my mom to get you a plaque, too!
