And finally, the piece de resistance of my time away – the Manitoba Young Readers’ Choice Awards. Check out the link for their 2011 selections! The awards ceremony took place in the Manitoba Young People’s Theatre, down at the Forks. It was FILLED with kids (I think 450). There were four young presenters who did a great job. Here are a few photos from the event.
Afterward I signed a lot of books and bookmarks. I must say a special thanks to Monica Ball – I don’t know how she pulls this off year after year but she does so with grace and aplomb!
Finally, on Friday evening, I flew home – happy to see my family, to be sure, exhausted, oh yes, but full of good memories.
